👤I picked one of these up because I thought it would help my tired eyes re-tying in low light and get a better knot. I discarded the tyepro when I found myself trying to re-tie it after a recent flying fishing trip into the Canadian bush. I was just tying blind. I fish for pike, so I think the Tyepro should be great for pike fishermen. This device is very effective at grabbing the jig. Feed the line through your opening and pull tight, that's all you need to do. It's very effective for jig fisherman. Not much for tying on snaps, lures, or hooks.
👤Sometimes I misplace hooks and lure trying to tie them on, so I wanted to like this. I was very excited when I received this tool; I was hoping it would simplify knot tying for me. When I got it, I went to my workshop and broke out a bunch of hooks, jigs, and lures. This is only good for tying a cinch knot on some hooks. The device just gets in the way of tying loop knots, Palomar Knots, or Uni knots. It is not sure about the size hooks that it will work with. I may keep this around and use it for tying hooks for panfish, but it really isn't good for much more. It seemed like it was a decent design, but it really didn't provide any advantage over hand tying. Don't make the mistake yourself, buying this was a $20 mistake for me. Is it possible to return something if I don't like it?
👤Don't buy this product, it's a cheap piece of plastic and not worth the shipping price. It didn't work on a 1/16 jig with 6# line. What good is it if you can't use it for a 1/16 jig? It is difficult to pass the line through twice with a 1/6 jig. The only knot you can tie is a clinched knot. It's cheaper to buy a pair of readers.
👤I took the tyepro out on the boat only twice. The metal parts fell out after cutting the line several times. If you have metal blades, you open the tyepro and it falls off the lanyard. I thought it was a good idea.
👤The design is very neat and works as advertised. However. You won't get the knot as tight as you would with your own hands when using this tool. I went fishing in Ontario for Walleye, pike and Lake Trout. We thought we had just hooked a big fish when we lost several lures. We started to pay attention to the lines and they were never snapped. The knot had failed. We never lost another lure after tying our hands as a test. Great idea. It may need to be re-designed. I would be willing to try a version 2 if someone else buys it.
👤I like tying on hooks and lead heads with these. I ordered 2 of them. My eyes are not what they used to be. The blades fell out and the cutter part was cool. I don't remember any abuse or rough treatment. I just put things in my boat storage so it's not my fault.
Made in the USA with high quality materials. The bundle contains generous lengths of rope, cord, and fishing line. There are 42 essential boating, sailing, camping, backpacking, and fishing knots. A portable, waterproof package with step-by-step, color-coded illustrations in a portable, knot tying cards is a knot reference book that fits in your pocket. The versatile selection of knots means this set is suitable for scouts, preppers, outdoor survival enthusiasts, or anyone wishing to expand their knot tying knowledge across multiple outdoor activities. portable knot tying reference guides and kits are their specialty.
👤Needed to learn a few new knots. It's become useful on the boat. Between the fishing and camping knots guide's, I like how I can reference them for the perfect knot. Great product and fast shipping.
👤My brother is a fisherman. He used it while he was in the hospital. He learned a few new knots.
👤I wanted to give this as a gift. It's not possible to give a bunch of small items with nothing to hold them. It was very disappapointed. I will never order this again.
👤There is a collection of instruction cards and practice line in three different materials and thicknesses. It's handy to have a backpack, camp box, fishing tackle bag, or drawer on your boat. The way the knots are organized is a great idea, and I find that they are the most useful knots in each of the categories. The cards are small and the print is small, which makes them hard to read for 50 year old eyes. The print is hard to read. If you're young and still have good focus mechanisms in your eyes, this probably won't be a problem. If you wear reading glasses, you might want to look for something larger.
👤This is a good way to learn how to tie knots. The cards are plastic, so water won't hurt them, and they are divided into sets for fishing, boating, and backpacking. I haven't used some in years, so it was time for a refresh. There are knots on both sides of the set, which is held together by a grommet in the corner. If you want to attach them to something, they have three carabineers that you can put through the grommets. The illustrations on how to tie a knot are clear. The fishing knots, rope, and bundle of paracord are included in the kit. It is about the thickness of paracord, but doesn't seem to have some of the lines that are in the center of genuine paracord. It's fine for practicing the knots. It is a nice little kit.
👤The more I've kayaked and hauled stuff on my car's roof rack, the more I want to learn how to do knots better. This set provides plastic cards that are focused on outdoors, fishing, and boating. Each group has materials to practice with. I think it's a great idea. I have yet to devote enough time to get what I need from this. Having said that... When I finally get frustrated on this, I am very happy to have this at hand. And then want to learn to do better. Maybe future planning. I hope this helps you.
👤The set comes with three waterproof guides that are packaged separately and with a hook for attaching them, as well as three different ropes to practice with. The ropes are strong and good quality. The guides were very thorough and included pictures of each step with the name of the knot and the purpose for using it. I've been looking into wilderness survival as well as hiking and backpacking. This kit is great for beginners like me who have limited experience with knots. This kit is great to have on hand, as well as to practice, and I would definitely recommend it.
The package has aBite Indicator. 2 sets quick knot tying tool combo, 2 pieces fishing line clippers, 2 pieces fishing zinger retractors and user manual. 4 in 1 design consolidates gear into one easy to use fast knot tyer. A multi-functional fishing mono line nipper, stealthy black rust-resistant finish body and red dipped rubber grip. Hook hone, mono line snips, hook eye cleaner and nail knot tool are included in the fishing line clipper. Come with a smooth and stylish logo. And. The nylon cord has a 1.5 ounce retraction force.
👤I thought this would be a great tool for trout fishing. The test line was barely cut. It was easier to cut with my cheap swiss army scissors. The tool got in the way of the line being tried. It was difficult to have one tool that I could use. The eye hole pin is too close and can only be used on specific types of hooks. The bar to hold the hook after tying is the only nice thing. I have trouble seeing and thought it would help with tying the line. It may be good for other types of fishing.
👤It started to oxidize after being handled while fishing. It's too small to easily tie knots on hooks and swivels and it's too loose to be well made. I use a lot of circle hooks and it is easier to snell the hook by hand than using a tool. The clippers are good.
👤My Dad likes this! He has to use his reading glasses a lot to tie his lines but this tool helped him out. A great gift for a dad who fishes.
👤The only reason I bought this tool was the nail knot jig. It makes good quality knots. I haven't found a knot that holds better when the braid and flouro/mono are combined. It has been used for hundreds of years. I use a nail knot in one form 99 percent of the time. I've pulled cats from the bottom and never had a pull out, but the nippers do have a problem with braid. Everything else is fine.
👤I didn't know how to use it.
👤I keep dropping them in the water. When you're using tiny hooks for trout, these make tying knots easy. You just hold the hook and twist it a bunch of times. It cuts up to 10 lbs line with ease, but it's better to use bigger pliers for bigger line. I will use it later on for fly fishing. One of the most important aspects is that it feels well made.
👤The drawings printed on a tiny card make no sense, so if you want to call them instructions, you should. I saw that the item and packaging were made in China. The instructions are not understandable. I no longer buy things made in China. Amazon should be more forthcoming with us about this.
👤The clip that holds the tool is the only thing worth anything. I can tie better knots with this tool.
👤I have watched the Y.T videos on how to use this tool. I think I understand how it works, but I can't find the right tool to make the perfect knot. I need a simple knot. When you try to copy the demos from Y.T., it will be a complete mess. You end up with a messed up bird's nest. I think it is because I want to create a knot on a small hook in trout fishing. The tool is designed for larger hooks. The line clipper is garbage. It doesn't spring back into place. Oh humbug. I think it will shine in tying two strings together for fly fishing. That is a positive. I have no idea how to use the hook sharpener, but I like it. I would not recommend it again. It comes with very little instruction. You have to go online to learn how to use it. If you ask me, it's a bad buy.
It is affordable and durable. You can put one in the fishing box. It will help you find line Nipper. There are two things that are safe and reliable: STURDY and DURABILITY. Anti-Corrosion and anodized aluminum is great for long term use without signs of oxidation and rust. The handles offer a light feeling. It's ideal for both freshwater and saltwater environments. A multi-tool. A fishing knot, a line cutter, a lure tuning tool, a hook sharpener, and a jig eye cleaner are included. There are 888-270-6611 CarBIDE CUTTERS. Cut fishing lines. It can cut all types of line. The lock is easy to use and keeps the tools open. The switch and foldable accessories are made of high quality steel, which is great for long term use. It is possible to lose your stuff and gear if you don't have a carabin reel.
👤The line cutter blades were missing. It was not made for real men with large hands. It was made for the pee wee man.
👤It's a good tool, but it's difficult to cut the tag end close to the knot.
👤It is easy to use when fishing. I leave the clip open when I am fishing. The knot tool is easy to use and cuts braid line well.
👤The tool is solid but heavy.
👤It is easy to use and easy to store.
👤The clippers were terrible at cutting mono.
👤The clips were great on my first time with them.
The package width is 2.3 inches. Full instructions are enclosed. One piece of steel. Full video instructions. Tie needle nail knots. The finish is non-Reflective.
👤Look at the size. This is small. For fresh water and light weight lines. If you are looking for a 6.5 inch size for tuna fishing, you should order the Magnum model.
👤After working with it for a while, I noticed my pinkie and next finger started to ache, and I decided that the 4” length of the tool was too short. I can use it without pain and tie any fishing knot I need. I highly recommend this tool.
👤I had a couple of similar items that were much lighter and cheaper than this. This thing ties a lot of knots. I still use these knots because they are more reliable than hand tying. The knot tier looks like a fish.
👤Ok... I like to fish. I stink at knots. I can do a few but not quickly. The answer is this knot tying tool. I've only snelled my own hooks, but the knot turned out great. I've bought pre-snelled hooks. The instructions it came with don't explain how to use it in a simple way. A quick look at a video on the internet solved that. I had a fist hook on the first try. Awesome!
👤The knot tying instructions are worthless according to other feedback. I think the company should make a 10-minute instructional video and just mail a link to the tool. If you just type in "Tie-Fast tying knot", there are some great videos on the internet. I am able to attach my fly to the tippet and tie it to the leader within 1-2 tries. It's easy to do a tie with this tool. I will shorten my knot tying time on the water. I would recommend the purchase. It seems easy to fix a 1-star deduction for poor instructions.
👤I haven't had the chance to use it while fishing but I've tied a lot of knots with it. It cooks. My eyes and hand don't work as well as they used to. I don't have to fight the line to keep the loop open at the fly so I can poke the tag end back through the loop that tries to twist closed with this tool. It would become second nature because I did a lot of tying. I enjoyed messing with it. Try a couple of ties after watching the video a couple of times. It is very easy. It was made in the USA. The knot is 3” from the fly so you don't get wiggle legs and other hackle caught up in the knot. You have to draw the knot down to the hook eye after the knot is complete. I think you use a little more line in making these knots. Fishing time is not.
👤The first time I tried to use the tool, I had to rely on a paper diagram that came with the tool. I had no luck for at least 30 minutes. My wife spent more time with me. The diagram did not work for us. I was able to tie a nail not on my first try after watching a video on YouTube. A tool that can be used to add fly to backing or a new leader to fly line.
The best gift for fisherman. A cool gift for someone who fishes. Style A Package: 1x fishing tool set, 1 fish lip gripper, and 1 fishing plier with sheath. The knot tying diagrams are easy to follow, with descriptions and usage tips. The card stock is super thick and durable. The portable and waterproof card format is far superior to paper knot books in maritime environments. There is a mini carabiner that you can use to clip your knot cards. How to tie 20 nautical knots.
👤I didn't think to look at the dimensions of the reference cards. They are small. It is difficult to read. You are on a moving boat. It's not easy to understand. It's pretty useless.
👤I didn't read the entire size listings, so I expected 8.5 x 11. The cards are 3x5 I was supposed to put them on my boat for a review. Too small.
👤The pros are: The cards are encased in a strong material and have a clasp to hold them together. * The cards are portable because they are about the size of a business card. The cards are about the size of a business card. Larger images with more steps outlined would be helpful. There is a * The cards do not come with a rope for practice.
👤The cards are too small to work with. Unless you are willing to copy them to a larger format, you shouldn't spend your money on them.
👤The cards are very small. They need to be bigger. If you want to remember quickly, you should read it quickly. You could use it as a key chain. They are small. Be aware of this fact. They are the same size as a credit card. A quarter of an inch taller. That's it!
👤The little guys are great. They give you the types of knots and applications to use or not use with business cards. It is very sturdy and comes with a carabiner. It's good to keep on your things. The knots could be used for jewelry making. I love these!
👤It's a cheat sheet. How much can I say? The price is too high for what you get.
👤The carabiner has small cards on it. It's easy to store on a boat. If they get wet, it shouldn't be a problem.
👤I was expecting 3x5 in actual size, not much bigger than a credit card.
It is easy to carry with it. The automatic hook tyer machine can be used directly for competition after the tie-up. There is no difference between strength and hand-binding. The thread is short, the inside of the shank is clean, and the wire is neat. The coil is tight, the motor is stable, and the amplitude is noise-free. PC material has higher impact resistance and more resistance to falling compared with the other material. It's compatible with many types of hooks, from 0.8# to 13# hooks. Warm tip. This product is not waterproof and should be avoided if you want to avoid rust damage.
👤There is nothing lower than a 1 star. The instructions are in Chinese. Does not work with a hook that has any bends in it. The plastic feels like it will break easily. It's difficult to learn how to tie and do it yourself. Don't spend the money.
👤English instructions were not included. I don't know how to use it.
👤I've been trying to get it to work. I don't use the instructions in Chinese. If you shared English instructions, it would be better.
👤Garbage doesn't work, that's what I expect from Wish. Not Amazon, the worst customer service ever.
The Hook-Eze is impervious to all weather conditions and saltwater and is manufactured from high quality virgin virgin UV stabilizer and virgin steel. Fly line quick knotting tool includes a quick knotter, fly line clippers, hook sharpener, hook eye needle, and D-ring for easy connection. It is easy to tie a fishing knot, clip the fishing line, and clean the hook eye. It is durable and will not rust. Fly line clippers are made with rubber grips and are easy to handle with gloves or wet hands. 3 sets with 4 in 1 fishing quick knot tying tool and Retractable Zinger are 888-739-5110 ReTRACTABLE ZINGER: The maximum stretchable length of nylon cord is 60CM.
👤The 3 tools are all fine, but the Silver Body with Red Grips is not. The Rivet holding the file line holder to the tool is so tight that I couldn't even move my PC. The file can probably be used without having to move much, but the line holder is nowhere close to the 180 position to be used. I am hesitant to force it into position if I get it there once, I think the odds are it will break eventually. All is good if this one could be replaced. I couldn't find a "contact seller" place. I'm using this mode.
👤This was a great purchase for the price.
👤My favorite tool for fishing. It works as advertised. The seller sent it on time.
👤The clippers lose their edge very quickly.
👤My sons didn't think of using them, but now they use them all the time.
👤I like the easy to use items that I need to get my line hooked and in the water. As I age, it becomes more difficult to tie the hook on. The price is also great. Three made for gift giving.
Within 30 days, full refund. This fishing game is a must have for kids. The fishing knot tying tool is for fishing gear. Fishing hooks should be covered on fishing poles. The line cutter is made of steel. It's perfect for ice fishing and kayaking. Hook-Eze can be used to tie up Jigheads and Speed Clips for attaching lures or other rigs. It's suitable for tackle used for bass, crappie, perch, and more. It's great for joining Line to Line when tying on flies and for joining your backing line to the tippet. Line to leader. The FG Knot, Blood or Yucatan knots are used for braided line. The Hook-Eze is an Awesome Bimini Twist tool that can be used with only 2 hands and can be tied using twists. Everyone can tie their own knot. It's easy to lose a fish from a faulty knot. It's ideal for cold weather conditions, numb fingers, and other disabilities to the hands. The improved clich knot and Palomar knot are perfect to tie. The hooks are sized from a standard 4/0 hook down to the smallest hook. It's a great addition to any tackle box. Hook-Eze can be used to cover the hooks attached to the pole so you can travel safely. No more damage to your car, boat, RV or caravan. You should avoid injuries to your passengers or pets. The Hook-Eze is made from high quality raw virgin UV Stabilized Polypropylene andstainless steel and impervious to all weather conditions and saltwater.
👤This tool is very useful. Here it is. The tool is easy to use and open, and is great for tying knots and transporting with the hook protected. You get 2 hook eze tools in a package. They have worked for small trout hooks and large catfish hooks. The plastic feels cheap and the hinge isn't going to last very long being made of the same plastic. One of the two tools has a small tear in the hinge after one weekend of use. The line cutter on the back is very similar to a dental floss cutter. I will tape it together if the hinge breaks. I'll probably be buying more, but not as much as if the price was closer to the quality. I think 8usd is a better price point for this item with the current size and quality.
👤It was received on time. That is the reason it gets 2 stars. Cheap plastic china junk is not very useful in tying a knot. The only good point of the device is that it encloses the end of the hook. The cutter can't cut braided line or anything over 8 lbs mono. It doesn't cut cleanly at the knot, leaving a small amount of line sticking out. This gizmo is outrageously overpriced. I don't think it costs over 3 cents to have these manufactured. I was very disappointed that I paid for these things. You may not stick yourself with the hook, that's the only help it gives. I don't recommend this product. A waste of time and money. Update! The seller has offered a refund. I give them 5 stars for that, but I don't think the product is good. It is hard to find a vendor that cares and is a great seller.
👤I know! It's hard to believe, but the hook tieing gizmo works. I'm ordering the large size as well. It is easier to open the ring if you slip it over your ring finger and squeeze the lid between your thumb and forefinger. This was passed on to me to buy something. The thing is hard to open if you don't do this. Go ahead and try it out. They work! There is a The seller is also reading these reviews. I think they want to give us the best product possible.
👤This is better than the other style of knot tool. I don't have to hold it tight because the hook is completely enclosed. There was no stick from the hook. You have the hook ready inside the tool and you can remove the hook from the tool when I'm ready.
👤This makes it easy to tie up lures and hooks. Since I started using the Hook-Eze, I have not lost a hook or lure because of a crappy tying job. If you're an amateur urban fisherman like me and my kid, and you keep a collapsible rod in a backpack, this is a solid system to keep hooks safe. The Hook-Eze is cheap, you get two, and it makes tying hooks to line easy. The proprietor is a serious Australian fisherman and his videos on his YouTube channel to train you on things are very short. This is my second Amazon review. The Hook-Eze folks are modest but proud of their product and I am happy to support them.
The zinger is made of gun-black zinc alloy frame, retractable nylon tether, and a quick release hook. The Freehander Fishing tool nips and manages fishing line or fishing lure exchange in real-time. SuperVise is featured. The retention clip cinches the line during the lure exchange. The tether point is built into the line cutter. Enhanced control is provided by the wide paddle design. The Freehander fishing gear has an exchangeable plus multi-positional respike.
👤The braided line would be cut for the price. Wrong. The line will be between the jaws. It was pointless because of the amount of effort and back and forth that went on. Also didn't like 4lb fluorocarbon. I'm not sure if I should be more impressed with my line choices or how bad they are. Spend your money on a better pair of shoes.
👤The cutter won't cut 6lb fluorocarbon and the eye cleaner won't work with smallish jigs. You can't line the jighead up with the point because you can't get it in there. The design is poor and the nipper won't nip. It looks snazzy, but that's all.
👤The concept seems great but is not functional from the factory. The cutter is dull and misaligned. Poor QC was unable to cut the line. Returned for a new one. We'll see if it's a coincidence. Nope! The nippers are too dull to nip any mono line and the plastic piece falls out on the first use.
👤I like nippers. It's like a fly fisherman's multi tool that frees up a hand. I pair mine with the defender so that I don't lose my nipper. I would give this tool a five star review, but my problem is the line vise fell out of the tool while I was fishing. The line vise was separated from the tool when it was in the box. This is a cool feature of the product. The nippers work well, but I need my equipment to be reliable and the line vise function failed me. I would give this review a 5 star review if there was a solution to this problem.
👤I bought them a few months ago. The nippers are getting loose. The nippers don't always close together. They won't cut anything if tippet stops them dead in their tracks. I expected better from Gerber.
👤I've been using it for a while. I've used traditional pliers with cutters like Van Staal and Hatch. I use nippers for my small fly lines. It works well with thin tippets. They are outgunned on larger lines and braid. I use the Hatch or the Abel. The thick saltwater FC or braid lines can be used with the pliers. No nippers can hang on those lines. I liked the ergonomics and design. It was short on performance. The value is there because it is the least expensive in the group. Find the right situation for it. I got it because it looked cool. I carry the Hatch most of the time.
👤If you are cutting larger diameter braid, hard line, or more it won't work. The line holder is not good. I feel like I've been ripped off.
👤I liked everything about thisipper. If you can call it that. It has more functions than a typical nipper. It beats nippers that cost twice as much. You will be able to give this tool to your children and grandchildren. It's easy to operate with gloves on and it feels great in my hand. The built in line management tool is very useful when tying on new flies or changing them out. It allows you to use the tool without having to hold it in your teeth, freeing up both hands and speeding up knot tying. I almost lost the orange line manager, but I would have given it five stars. I found it in my seat in the float tube. If it came out while I was finishing a river, I would have been out of luck. I slipped back into the metal part that houses it.
The fishing tackle has a compact box that is easy to fit in your fishing seat box, fishing backpack and fishing vest's pocket. The Knot Kneedle is a faster, easier, and better way to tie a knot. It's a fishing knot tool that ties over 20 knots in less time than you think. Assists in tying the blood knot, nail knot, uni knot, davy knot, orvis knot and many others. The integrity of your tippet or line can be maintained with a soft rubber grip. Small, portable, and convenient. A fisherman might have too much fishing gear. It's great to have items that are easy to carry. Ties on the smallest tippet lines can fit in any vest pocket or tackle box, taking up very little space. Is it 6 g or 2.5? It was long. FLY FISHING, SPIN FISHING, TROLLING, AND MORE: All fisherman tie knots to attach flies, fishing hook, leaders, and more. Why don't you waste time? The Knot Kneedle will be your companion. Take it with you to the water. It's great for ice fishing, fly fishing, freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing, and more. Every fishing tool kit should have an integrated accessory for every lure box. It's one of the most useful fishing gadgets to have in your kit. Get back to fishing. The fish are in the water. Use this amazing line tying tool instead of tying knots. You want to spend time fishing. Get back out there and catch more.
👤The metal collar has to be pushed down to expose the hole in the line. It should be easier to do. The spring is hard to depress and it's hard for the thumb and finger to get a purchase on the smooth metal collar. Put a zip tie on the collar. It's easy to hold the line securely if you depress with your thumb. I was going to send the product back because my hands are not as strong as they used to be, but I tried the zip tie and it worked. It works great now. You can find a solution to make the collar easier to depress, but this one works quickly and costs a few pennies.
👤I just got a new and improved Knot K needle. It's amazing. It's easier to use than the previous one. The small form factor is no problem since the spring is less tight, and it's easier to thread the eye with line since it's easier to compress with one hand. I love this headband. Shout out again! You keep making it better and better. Thank you! I've had a knot needle for over a month. I'm still learning how to tie it. Even though it was a tad smaller than I anticipated, it's very solid in the hand. It's helpful because it almost acts like a third hand because it's holding onto the tag end of the line while I tie the knot. The videos that show step by step how to tie the various knots with the Knot K needle are some of the best. The product was great and the customer service was great. Shout out to your customer for being treated with care. It's a good thing. American pride is at its finest! Thank you!
👤If you have a variety of impairments to fine dexterity, you might be able to work with fishing line and tippets as well as I can. The tool looks over designed, but it is well made and does a great job, making knot typing much easier. Videos for a variety of knots are very helpful. I hope you don't drop in a fast moving stream or deep water.
👤I saw this product a few times and couldn't decide if it was a useful tool or a gimmick. I'm a new fly fisherman and I'm frustrated by the fact that I'm getting older and have to use reading glasses whenever I need to tie a knot. I'm usually waist deep in a river with other things on my mind, like fish, cold or watching the hatch. This thing makes putting on the flies so much easier. I love it. It has made me more confident in fly fishing.
👤This is a must have tool. If you have trouble seeing the tag end of the line or moving your fingers, the KNOT KNEEDLE is very helpful. The video makes it easy to do. I'm sure it would be helpful for the beginner. It was well made. It is already worth it weight in gold. Making tying knots a pleasure. I believe it is made in the USA.
