The handle of the fly fishing line clipper is covered with non-slip rubber, which makes the grip more comfortable, and it can be applied even with wet hands. The quick knot tools come with a zinger retractor, which is easy to fit into a pocket. It has a needle on top that can be used for untying knots or tangles. It's easy to use, even with gloves or wet hand, and it's great for clear eyes. It could be repeated polishing and grinding in the future. Great for honing hooks, clear hook eyes, mono line cutting, and nail knot tying. A nice tool for fly fishing lovers.
👤It works exactly as advertised and is not much to write about. It's handy to have when fishing in the dark on a wet and windy beach.
👤The blades of the snips don't meet together. Don't buy this item.
👤The tool is nice, but no instructions for tying a knot.
👤The zinger is a small and practical solution that allows one to keep essential accessories close to hand. It's made with a good retractor.
The size is XS, S, M, L, and XL. The length is 5.8mm. The length is 0.28inch. 7mm. The length is.8 inch. There are millimetres. The length is 0.36inch / 9mm. The length is 0.43inch. Tie knots, threading and cutting fishing line are all done with Typro, the only tool that combines them in one accessory. Tyepro tying tools and fishing gear are made in the USA by a small family business. It works well with most flies and ice jigs with line and tippet sizes of 0.020” down to 0.003” (8x). Customer satisfaction is guaranteed! Click here to see full product details and photos.
👤Don't be foolish. The thing is a plastic clothespin with a line clipper at the other end. If you only use one type and size of fly, hook or jig, who does that? Within 5 minutes of opening the package, I returned mine. I don't recommend impulse buys or gifts. It's the type of thing that sits at the bottom of your tackle box and is never used.
👤It is advertised to work for flies from 2 to 16 years old. It works well for flies in the lower range, but as you approach 16 it's easier to get a tippet without the tool in the eyelet. If you have any fibers close to the eye, forget it. The tool is useless because of Caddis patterns with fibers past the eye. All beadhead nymph patterns are the same. They don't fit in the tool. I have gone to 3x glasses and a flip-down scepter. It is quicker, easier, and less frustrating. I'm sending my tool back.
👤The product advertised is better than what I received, but it is obvious that what arrived was a copy with less workmanship. I tried to use it as a demonstration, but it is too small for the hook eye. The designer wrote back saying "if you are unhappy, send it back", which was too much trouble for me. The designer came up with a neat idea, then he sold it to someone who wanted to make more money. Lots of people have the same issues. Don't buy something on line from a small business that cares about craftsmanship.
👤I can't say enough about how easy it is to thread the fly with this tool. I used to need a pair of reading glasses to thread the line, but this tool makes that a thing of the past and I can swap out the flies much faster. Great tool. thx
👤The inventor is a hero! I like tying my flies onto the tippet. It's easy to use and see the hole.
👤This was not perfect, but it is a good idea. The eye of the hook is difficult to line up with the hole, and it moves around while you try to thread it. There are some hooks that work. You will quickly learn that you can tie your line by hand. The line clippers are very dull and can leave you twisting to remove the line.
👤The product was a little flimsy and I didn't like it very much. I didn't realize there were two models. I bought the fly and ice. I need the regular unit for bigger tackles.
👤The device is hard to use with bead head flies and flies where the material that makes up the fly partially blocks the eye of the fly.
You can hang the carabiner clip on your fly vest or backpack. The fishing line clipper was made of 304 STAINLESS STEEL and had a 4 in 1 design. Even if the hand is wet or wearing gloves, theDipped handle has a non slip grip. The fishing line clipper has a hook sharpener, mono line cutter, hook eye cleaner, knot tyer, D-ring use for knot and easy attachment. The fly fishing tools combo comes with a safety break away joint. The lanyard can be used as a fly fishing tippet holder.
👤I've been fly fishing for 45 years and can't tell you how many tools and clippers I've lost. The lanyard is top notch and the large bulb just above the tool keeps it from moving a lot, features I didn't think about when purchasing but really appreciate now. You have a nail knot tool which is small but functional, hook eye cleaner, a pair of heavy duty nippers all in one and immediately at your disposal when you need it, all for the price of just a traditional nail knot tool. The heavy duty nippers can leave a burr on the end of his clipped tippet, which can make it difficult to tie up flies with small eyes.
👤As tying a knot. My previous review was worth it. The lanyard makes this tool a multi tool. There is a You have the day before if you are tying smaller hooks and lite tackle for pan fish. These tools could be used more often. You can get a code for the lanyard and clipper.
👤I haven't used the hook tie tool yet because of the limitations of the clips. The lanyard is 2 piece, you can pull on the attachment end and the ring will pull away from the big knot.
👤It was a nice item for the price. The nail knot tool worked well for me. The tippett material was cut just fine. A good purchase.
👤This product is not good. The lanyard should be able to thread tippetols. Rio is one of the largest fly line companies. The lanyard is cheap and doesn't do what it is advertised to do: hold a nipper and tippet spools. Too bad. This is going back with a poor review. Save money by buying a better product.
👤Inexpensive, simple and effective. I like the lanyard.
👤The part that holds the hook is flimsy.
👤It has everything you need and you won't lose it, as you can hang it around your neck with a strap that suits your arms length. I bought another one for my girlfriend.
👤The neck strap made it easy to access through the day, cutting through all types of leaders and tying the smallest flies.
👤It's handy to keep biting my lines.
👤The product is very cheap. Garbage paracord is what Lanyard is made of. If it wasn't so much work for me, I would return it.
5. The hook is made of steel and has a loop tyer, quick knot tool, hook hone and other functions. It's great to remove hooks from deep-sea fishes. The package has a 4 in 1 Quick Knot tool, a wire clipper, a clip of eye cleaner, and a fishing Zinger Retractor. A multi- function that includes clear hook eyes, trimming line, honing hooks and nail knot tying tool. The 4 in 1 cutter is covered with a no-slip grip handle, which makes it convenient to use. 4 in 1 design consolidates gear into one, all-in-One tool for all your line tying needs, with D-ring to attach to lanyard for easy access. A carabiner clip can be attached to a belt loop, fly fishing vest or bag, and it can be retractable.
👤Cheap price and cheap quality. The metal is cheap. The plastic grips were not attached correctly. I just put a spare clip on the end and use it. Don't know how long that will last. It's so cheap that I don't care.
👤I bought this for my husband because he likes them and he said they are easy to use but the fish has to be a bigger fish. It was worth the money.
The advantage is that with SF fishing zingers on your fishing jacket to hold your knot tying tool, keep them safe and never lose. The two-in-one design is more convenient to carry. No damage is caused by the precision contact firmly grips any fishing line. Up and down spring action. The body is made from strong, lightweight Acetel Delrin. The head and loop of the Shaft will not rust. clip onto clothing
👤The device is designed to tie fishing line knots. The included instructions are not up to par and having to purchase and wait for an instructional DVD takes a star off my rating.
👤I've been having trouble tying flies onto my leader even with high powered glasses. It would take a few attempts to tie an improved knot. They were tied wrong sometimes. My eyes and fine motor skills were letting me down after 30 years of fly fishing. This tool was used to get me back on track. The magnetic eye threading feature on this tool deserves 9 stars. It makes threading the eye of any fly/hook/popper a 10 second job. I've tried both size 2 and 16. That part is very clever. There is a The knot tying feature is not as slick as I would like. The tip only has two places that can grab the line. You have to focus on catching the line and use the tip and plunger at the same time. It's hard to push the tool through a line loop without it catching because the edge of the barrel that the tip pulls in against is sharp. Line will get caught in that spot when pulling the tool through the knot. I found that a pair of hemostats used in the same way works better for knot tying. The Double Davy Knot is the easiest.
👤I was fly-fishing on the river and there was nothing to bite. I decided to try a different fly. I tried and messed with the fly threader I purchased on the auction site. I pulled the tippet up off the thread to make sure it wasn't in the hook eye. I lost another fly and it was my last one. Before I quit fly fishing, I decided to try this threader. This threader has worked for me many times. It's also a knot. I can change flies in about a minute, instead of 20 minutes. This thread has a ring that can be clipped to my lanyard or zinger for easy access. I would have bought it years ago. I might have done more fishing. Yes! I would recommend this to anyone.
👤The tip must have been loose and came off while walking to the next run, but would give this 4 stars. The tip and half of the plastic were gone when I used it. I used it on 3 flies. The knot worked well. The threader is fine. I wish the build quality was similar to the brass tool. If you buy one, make sure it's tight by putting thread glue on the tip. I would have liked to have.
👤Don't spend your money on the otherNail Knot tools, just spend the extra money and get the Knot tool. It took me a little while to get used to it, but once I did, it was amazing how fast I can tie a knot. The instruction book was good enough for me. The hook threading tool is worth the money on its own. Without my glasses on, I can thread a small hook in 2 seconds. I don't need it before my eyes start going, but I'm glad I have it now. It is a little pricey, but it is well built. I would recommend this to my friends and family.
The rubber handle material helps to improve your grip. The safety lock makes it easier to store the pliers. Your investment is protected from normal wear and tear with a custom molded sheath. The sheath has been extended past the pliers nose to prevent damage to the seats and the bottom has been left open to allow the water to drain. A coated coiled lanyard makes sure your pliers don't fall over. The combo includes a quick nail knot tool, hook tier, loop tyer and retractors. Fishing knot tying tool: tie your lines securely in a matter of moments and don't worry about your knot coming undone, especially tying nail knot fast The hook tier is a brass multi tool, built-in vice tool clamp, great for connecting fishing line to the hook essential knot tool. A loop tyer is a plastic tool that can be used to quickly tie loop knots for hair rigs or hook lengths. The zinger has a gun-black zinc alloy frame, retractable nylon tether and quick release hook.
👤I don't tie those knots often but the quality is good and the nail know took is easy to use, so I haven't used all three of the tools. Don't let the practice efforts that are required discourage you from tying a nail knot. It's not a tool, it's just teaching you where the lines go and where to apply tension. It does a good job for what I use it for.
👤I tried to connect fluorocarbon and braided lines using this tool. I watched several videos about how to tighten two lines and followed all the steps but the lines separated after I applied a little force. I stopped playing after ten tries. Don't waste money and time. I lost interest in using other tools.
👤The knot tool is really cool. There is no magic here, but it is well made. It has a lanyard that is burr free. Why pay more for the same tool? You can use a stick. It's simple and helps avoid having to use the old reading glasses to tie a knot. My daughters are catching fish and I have to keep up with them.
👤It took about 5 minutes to master this set of tools.
👤That nail-knot is not hard to nail.
👤The knot tying unit is easy to use. The loop tying unit is difficult to use on the water.
👤It's difficult to tie a good knot in a rocking kayak. This thing is simple to work with. I would like to think of this.
👤This was bought for a teenager who was getting serious about fishing. It's handy. He loves it! Well built. The book we ordered was on knots. He's excited to catch the big one and show off his new skills.
👤I just started fishing and am buying lots of equipment. There is a There are no instructions on how to use the items. I've had to search the web for similar images to try and understand what they do, but mostly without success.
👤All as described. A good reference idea is item well packed instructions. The kit is nice. When not fishing, I will use the tackle box for my Evenings. Good item.
👤It is a very good value for money. This is the product for people who struggle with tying knots. I keep it in my box because it will come in hamdy.
👤The items are quite good, but if you don't use fly and fishing you will not be able to use them.
👤All four items in the picture are in the kit. The person tied one of the knots inside an hour. Can't beat that, thanks everyone.
It's easy to use, it saves time and effort, it only needs to rotate the handle slightly to complete the binding of the fishing line, it's a nice tool for fishermen. The knot tying tool is an excellent tool for fishing. This neat little tool is made from Marine Grade T6 aluminum and has a high precision CNC Machining, it is finished with the best Type II anodised coating for durability in Red, Black, Blue, and Gold colors. It will last a lifetime in either fresh or saltwater. The overall length is only 3.5 inches, it can be attached to a zinger or worn on a lanyard for quick access. When tying the knot, the ends should be in place with line grooves and thumb detent. It was easy and reliable.
👤A nail knot is an essential knot to tie just with one's fingers, but it is not always easy to do. Enter this tool. While there are many cheap metal nail knot tools out there, I was interested in the aluminim design. The tool was well designed, but there was one flaw. The cut-out opening at the business end of the tool was left razor sharp and I kept cutting my backing line when I tied a knot. The slot was a bit smaller than the cheaper steel variant, making it difficult to pass float line back through the opening after pre-wrapping the backer line. I used my wife's nail file to widen the slot. It work like a champ. Since it's aluminum, I can leave it out of my vest and not worry about it rusting. The nippers, retractable tool reel, and nice kit all add up to a nice touch. "field mod" was quick and easy.
👤I had to try a few times before I got the nail knot to work, but it is a versatile knot. I feel confident in this knot after a few practice sessions. The clippers work well and are a nice bonus. I didn't like the accessory that held the tool on my vest. I don't trust it because it has a clip on the back. Overall great.
👤The nail knot tool works well. I was able to use this tool for this situation because of the size and design of it, and the fact that I was adding a lanyard to a metal shaft piece. The nippers are not special.
👤The nail knotter tool is not the same as the Orvis tool. It works just as well as the Orvis version. The nippers are ok for a backup. I only gave it 5 stars because I was done with the nail knotter.
👤The nail knotter is the best. Solid brass construction with an entry level retractor.
👤There were no instructions for how to use it. I'm sure it would work if I knew how to use it.
👤I use it to tie a nail knot.
The lanyard and sheath fit in the belt loop to keep the combo safe. You get 2 sets of fly tying equipment. A fishing knot tying tool and a buckle are included in each set. This fishing tool can be used for fly fishing, ice fishing and kayak fishing. Take the fishing line through the hook eye and place the line over thumb rest and through the notch, then wrap the line around the notch and hold it in place, then take the end of the line through the coiled line. A fishing clipper, a needle for cleaning jig hook eye, a hook sharpener, and a knot tool combo are included in the 4 in 1 Fly Tying tool. The telescopic Buckle is perfect for balance of good tension and retractable nylon string inside. The nylon string can be used to link the fly vest, waist, backpack, fishing tackle bag, and the bottom snap to keep your fishing accessories secure. The fisherman's clever tool is a smilng steel fishing line tying tool. You can save time by tying knots quickly.
👤The product has some nice features. The package should include a piece of paper to describe the proper use of the line tying tool. The review title suggests that the clippers won't cut braid. They will leave a mess at your knot.
👤The tool is not useful to me because it has no directions.
👤It works great when you have fat fingers.
👤Poor quality. It barely can cut the fishing line. The money should be spent on the real thing.
👤I lost my fishing vest. If possible, I would rate it at zero stars.
👤There are issues with braided line. Not a heavy braid. I don't use the clipper type cutters for mono or flouro, but they do work great for that type of line. I have a retractable leash on me when I'm out and I clip one on my pants or shirt. I've had other brands and they seem a little sharper and better at cutting braided line than I do.
👤The nippers are so dull they barely cut. There are five stars on the nippers/nail knot tool. The retractable keeper has a heavy string which is more prone to wear than a wire cord.
There is a bulit-in stailess steel spring and 600mm nylon cord. A safety device is used to fish knotting tool and safe hook cover. It fits hooks from a standard 10/0 hook. Hook-Eze can be used to attach lures or other rigs including a small variety of flies. Everyone can tie their own knot. It's easy to lose a fish from a faulty knot. It's ideal for cold weather conditions, numb fingers, and other disabilities to the hands. It's a great addition to any tackle box. A TWIST top bottle opener is included. It's easy to join Line to Line or Leader. The braided line is used to lead to Monofilament. The HookEze is an awesome Bimini Twist tool that can be tied using only 2 hands and a HookEze. Travel safe, use Hook-Eze to cover the hooks attached to the pole, so you can safely transport your fishing poles while fully rigged. No more damage to your car, boat or caravan. Avoid injuries to your passengers or pets. The Hook-Eze is impervious to all weather conditions and saltwater.
👤My hands shake when I have what is called Essential Tremors. It is difficult to tie hooks and other items to my fishing line. I wanted to see if it would help. I have to train my hands and fingers to use it. I was able to tie several snells and swivels in about 6-7 minutes, but it would take me a long time to tie one snelled hook without it. If you have shaky hands, I recommend this tool for ease of tying tackle. I recommend it to anyone who wants to try a unique tool.
👤For someone with larger fingers and dim eyesight, I need all of the help I can get, and I was skeptical of trying this, but I have to admit it does work. You can see how to operate it in the video instructions that are included with the picture view of the item on Amazon.
👤A good one. Great product. Shipping took a week with Prime and 2 days with AMZ. I like that Hook-Eze made it larger to fit 1/0- 10/0 hooks. They were not compatible with the smaller size model. Many of my Fisherman buddies have already bought this model and I would recommend it to them. If not for the inaccurate Shipping ETA and the Unnecessary Bottle Twist accessory, I would get 5 stars. I hope they make a Hook-Eze for Treble Hooks, in place of the Bottle Cap Twist off. Keep them lines tight!
👤I saw an ad for a product that made it easier to apply hooks and remove strings. Why not try it? I'm not disappointed. It's so easy and convenient that it almost feels like cheating. It also has the added benefit of enclosing the hook and attaching it to the pole so that there is no way to accidentally hook your car seat, clothing, or self anymore. It was a nice set. I know that my money has been spent and I will be buying more.
👤This is the best design yet. I have tried other brands and found them lacking. There is no need for a real learning curve. I encourage you to make another one from the same material. I would triple the cost of it. I like to fish for bass, lake trout and salmon. It's difficult to use equipment. Let me know if you decide to try it.
👤I bought this item because I have arthritis in my thumb and it hurts when I twist it in certain directions. A good knot is tied with that thumb. The tool that I use to get the proper twists to knot a good knot is very useful. I am able to knots faster and better than before. The device is difficult to open, but I was able to open it by taking a small fingernail file and filing down the small locking tab. It's a little pricey, but very useful for me. I struggle with other applications so I could use a larger rectangular device.
Perfect for any outdoor enthusiast, it's a great gift for campers, boaters, fisherman, hikers, survivalists, boy scouts, eagle scouts, backpackers and more. A great gift for Dad. It is simple and easy to tie blood and barrel knots with a third hand. The super light weight is 5 ounces. Attaches to a lanyard or vest. There are written and graphic instructions in this package. Made in the USA with high quality materials.
👤I chuckled when I saw the patent pending sign. I bought my first version of this tool from a guy in a van on the Flatbrook River in North Jersey when I was a young teen. I have been using this tool for 50 years. It ties perfect blood knots once you get comfortable with it. There are a few tricks. You should leave a decent tag. The tool suggests a small amount. 2. Don't try to twist the tags by rotating the tool. It's better to do it in opposite directions for the two sides of the knot. 3. When doing the rotation, make sure you hold the tag end and the leader to the tool so the twists don't get close to it. This is to make sure the twists don't wrap back to the tool and cause a tangle. 4. When you put the tag under the pistons and release the leader from the springs, you should lubricate it with a knot. If you do this, tighten up nicely and you will have a picture perfect knot. The unit is small but solid, I bought it 50 years ago. My wife and kids have lost theirs in the past. You should keep a pocket in your vest. I bought two for myself and my wife, one for my wife and the other for me.
👤The result isn't a true blood knot, but I admire the ingenuity reflected in this device. A blood knot has a tag that ends in opposite directions. The knot is facing the same direction. I don't know if that knot is as strong, but I know that in heavy line it results in an annoying angle. There's a really easy way to tie that knot without tools. "speed blood knot" can be found on the video sharing website. " The small size of this device makes it hard to use when your hands are wet and cold. It was thrown in the trash because it was useless with a mono line larger than 0X.
👤The product is too small to be effective and difficult to hold, so it is difficult to engage the line keepers. If you allow the line to go to the bottom of the spring when you force it into place, it will be very difficult to remove the line. The two plungers on top don't hold the line tight enough for the knot to be pulled tight, the line slides out from under the plunger and the knot can't be cinched. He was very disappointed with his product.
👤If you have big hands that aren't as steady as they used to be, and eyes that don't see as clearly as they used to, blood knots will drive you crazy. I bought this. I can see how it will work. It seems to have been made well. Instructions are simple if you have tied blood knots before. The problem comes after that. It's difficult for big hands to hold it and make it work. I can waste more tippet and leader than I used to and tie a blood knot without this thing, which is much easier than saving leader length. There is a little word of caution. You put the leader and tippet into the springs. If you can't get it out of the spring, try again. If you pull it either way, it will ruin the one you try on.
5PCS tools coMBO A quick knot tying tool, hook hone, split ring opener, upper bait assistant tool, and zinger retractor are included. The quick knot tool is great for fast knotting and loop tyer. The hook sharpener has dual diamond grit surfaces and two sided hook file. Fishing upper bait aid is a great way to make a fishing rig. Slit rings open quickly for easy changing hooks, bait or lures. A smooth and stylish epoxy logo, bulit-in stailess steel spring, and a zinger retractor are included in the price. And. The nylon cord has a 1.5 ounce retraction force.
👤The knot tying tool can help make clean knots. You have to watch some videos online to learn how to use it. You don't want to drop things in the water if you use the retractor to hold scissors and other tools. The double groves catch hook points and I have to light the hook point before I get to the end to get the best hone.
👤I bought this to tie knots on my hooks. I had to look for a small hook that would fit into the shaft for the knot to work. It's useless since normal hooks won't work. Not worth buying.
👤This thing makes it so easy for my large fingers. I'm buying a gift for my dad.
👤The tackle box has a great addition.
👤Absolutely love it. Goes on fishing trips.
👤I still don't know how to use them.
👤Like Arnold, I'll be back.
👤Didn't like this at all, I was taken.
👤I have a lot of Thier stuff, it's well made and works well for fly and dropshot fishing, which is what I like.
👤Happy with the business so far.
👤I have a condition in my hands. The tool package is the best for me. I don't have to worry about tying the knot anymore. I will continue to suggest this item.
